The 919 cc CBR900RR, code SC33, began in 1996 with the third generation, which revised the suspension and chassis for rigidity, with larger thinner-walled extrusions in the swingarm and frame, raised handlebars and a 1 mm bore increase that took displacement to 919 cc. The fourth generation of 1998 brought a stiffer frame, a redesigned fairing, larger front rotors and new calipers, and 80 percent new engine internals to reduce friction and weight. Each model year has its own page.
