Healey Sportsmobile

Automobiles

The Healey Sportsmobile was a four-seat, two-door convertible built by the Donald Healey Motor Company from 1948 to 1950 on the A and B type chassis, with the Riley 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine. Its aluminium body was made by Sam Morris and Company, and the Association of Healey Owners counts 25 built, with a register of known cars kept on the Silverstone and Sportsmobile owners' website. One history describes it as a somewhat awkward looking model, built on a revised B-Type chassis, that followed the earlier Healey cars with open bodies by Westland and saloon bodies by Elliott, all in the curvaceous style drawn by Ben Bowden.
