Handley Page Halifax

Military Aircraft

The Handley Page Halifax is a four engine British heavy bomber that entered Royal Air Force service in 1940, developed alongside the more celebrated Avro Lancaster as one of the two mainstay heavy bombers of Britain's night bombing campaign against Germany during the Second World War. Beyond bombing missions it was also widely used for glider towing, paratroop dropping and maritime reconnaissance, and it remained in RAF service for transport and other roles after the war ended.
