The FV105 Sultan was a British command and control vehicle built on the CVR(T) tracked platform, with a higher roof than the personnel carrier versions so that its crew had a more comfortable working space. It entered service in 1978 and has left British service. Inside it carried a large vertical map board and desk with a bench for three staff, positions for a radio operator with room for four radios, a commander who could raise his seat to use a pintle-mounted machine gun, and a driver in a small compartment beside the engine. An attached tent extended the rear into a briefing area. It had a filter pack for chemical, biological and radioactive protection. Operators included Brunei, Honduras, Latvia and Ukraine.
