Ford Escort (Europe) (Mk2)

Automobiles

The squarer Mark II Escort appeared in January 1975, with the first cars leaving the line on 2 December 1974. It was developed jointly by Ford of Britain and Ford of Germany under the codename Brenda, and it reused the floorpan, mechanical parts and core structure of the Mark I. Trim levels ran from Popular up through L, GL and Ghia, with Sport, RS Mexico and RS2000 for performance buyers. British production of the generation finished in August 1980. Its model years run from 1975 to 1979.
