In 1976, its second year, the Mark II was sold in the same line up of Popular, L, GL and Ghia trims, with the Sport, RS Mexico and RS2000 performance versions above them, and Italian buyers could still choose the 940 cc engine that benefited from tax rules there. Estate and panel van versions kept the doors, roof and rear panels of the Mark I but used the new front end and interior. In South Africa, cars built at Halewood were being assembled at Port Elizabeth from late 1975.
