The Contour was the North American version of the first generation Ford Mondeo, sold for the 1995 to 2000 model years as a four door sedan replacing the Tempo, with the Mercury Mystique as its rebadged twin. It was built at Kansas City Assembly in Missouri and at Cuautitlan in Mexico and was among the smallest sedans of its class. The SVT Contour performance model was built from 1997 to 2000.
