The 7Y was a single generation of two model years, officially marketed as the Ford Eight, a slightly larger version of the Model Y with a 933 cc eight horsepower sidevalve engine and a two door body with unusual openable rear windows, with a spare wheel recess in the rear bodywork like the V8 Pilot. Its model years run from 1938 to 1939. The 7Y was a small British Ford sold as the Ford Eight, a rebodied and slightly larger Model Y.
