The DeSoto Series S-10 was an automobile that DeSoto produced from 1942 through the 1952 model year. Sold with the DeLuxe trim package, it was DeSoto's entry-level car and was offered mainly as two- and four-door sedans, while the Custom line brought upscale interiors and appearance, including a seven-passenger sedan and the extended-wheelbase Suburban sedans. The DeLuxe shared its engine with the Custom, Chrysler's L-head 237 cubic inch six-cylinder delivering 109 horsepower at 3600 rpm. The 1946 to 1948 and first-half 1949 cars used DeSoto's slightly updated prewar bodies, and the body was claimed to be rust proofed.
