The Datsun 160Z was a small sports car built in South Africa by Nissan-Datsun South Africa at its Rosslyn plant for only two model years, 1978 and 1979. It was a development of the Datsun 140Z, itself a sports car based on the Sunny (B210) range, and was announced in July 1978. Its 1.6 litre L16 four-cylinder engine was tuned with a high performance camshaft and twin Hitachi side-draught carburettors, and although it produced less power than the 140Z it had more torque. The car was finished in canary yellow with coloured decals, high back seats, front and rear spoilers, rear window louvres and alloy wheels designed by Tiger Wheels. Only 120 cars were built in 1978 and 121 in 1979 before it was discontinued.
