The Daihatsu Consorte is a subcompact car that the Japanese automaker Daihatsu sold from 1969 to 1977. It was based on the Toyota Publica, and its name, meaning consort in Italian, reflected Daihatsu's newly established affiliation with Toyota while continuing the theme begun with the preceding Compagno, the companion. It was a badge-engineered version of the P30 Publica. Introduced in April 1969, the Consorte Berlina took its Berlina designation, Italian for sedan, from the outgoing Compagno sedans and came in Standard and Deluxe models. In June 1971 a second facelift brought a new grille and Toyota's 1.2 litre 3K engine for the sporty S model, and in May 1973 the Toyota Starlet coupe was added to the Consorte line-up.
