The Continental Mark II was Ford's attempt at a world flagship, a two door hardtop coupe built largely by hand and sold by a separate Continental Division for only the 1956 and 1957 model years. It was the most expensive American car of its day, priced to compete with Rolls Royce and Bentley, and it succeeded the 1939 to 1948 Lincoln Continental. After 1957 it was folded back into the Lincoln range. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1956 to 1957).
