The eighth generation Corvette moved the engine to the middle of the car for the first time in a production Corvette, with a 6.2 liter LT2 V8, and it was sold as a targa top or a retractable hardtop convertible. The family grew to include the Z06 with a flat plane crank LT6 V8 for 2023, the hybrid E-Ray for 2024 and the ZR1 for 2025. A right hand drive version was also made for markets that drive on the left. Its model years run from 2020 to 2026.
