The fifth generation 3 Series appeared as the E90 saloon, E91 Touring, E92 coupe and E93 convertible, a larger car than the E46 that brought the first turbocharged petrol 3 Series, the 335i, in 2006. The E9x M3 got a naturally aspirated V8, the only M3 to have one. The saloon and estate were replaced by the F30 in 2012, while the coupe and convertible ran to 2013 before becoming the 4 Series. Its model years run from 2004 to 2013.
