The Austin de Luxe was a family car built by Authi at its Pamplona plant during 1974 and 1975, so its production run was short. Pininfarina styled the body, which was fitted over the chassis and many other components of the Austin and Morris 1100. Power came from a 998 cc BMC A-Series engine rated at 55 hp (41 kW), identical to the engine of the 998 Mini Cooper except that it had only one SU carburettor instead of two. The car shows how the 1100 platform was reworked for a separate local market under the Austin name, with an Italian-styled body over British running gear from the BMC parts range.
