The first-generation ZDX was shown at the New York show in April 2009 as a 2010 model, a crossover that Acura called a four-door sports coupe because of its sloping rear roofline. It was designed entirely at Acura's Torrance studio, though it was based on the Pilot and MDX rather than the Honda Crosstour it resembled. A 300 horsepower 3.7 litre V6, SH-AWD and the first six-speed automatic in an Acura powered it. It sold poorly and ended after 2013, with only 7,191 built.
