The fourth-generation MDX skipped the 2021 model year. It was shown as a prototype in October 2020, went into bulk production in January 2021 for 2022 and became Acura's flagship once the RLX was dropped in June 2020. A 3.5 litre V6 with a 10-speed transmission powered most trims, while the new Type-S had a 3.0 litre turbocharged V6, four-piston Brembo brakes and standard all-wheel drive. There is no hybrid. A facelift for 2025 added a Google-built infotainment system.
