The 2026 model year was the last of the third generation. The final third-generation RDX was confirmed built at Honda's East Liberty, Ohio plant on May 5, 2026. Acura said in January 2026 that a fourth-generation RDX with a hybrid powertrain would arrive in the next couple of years, expected as a 2028 model in late 2027, so the nameplate was set to continue after a short gap in the lineup, while the 2026 cars continued to use the 2.0 litre turbo four-cylinder and 10-speed automatic.
