The Destinator was officially unveiled on 17 July 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia, as the third strategic Mitsubishi model launched there after the Xpander and the Xforce, and went on sale in Indonesia on 23 July 2025 in the GLS, Exceed and Ultimate trims. The Philippines followed on 20 November, Vietnam on 1 December and Brunei on 20 December 2025, and ASEAN NCAP gave it five stars in October 2025. The Destinator is mainly marketed for emerging markets in Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa.
