The 2024 version of the MX-5 received some minor tweaks, in the tenth year of the fourth generation, and Car and Driver named it its Editor's Choice for Affordable Sports Car in 2024. It remained a lightweight, two seat roadster built at the Hiroshima plant, offered as the soft top and the Retractable Fastback, and sold as the Miata in the United States. A longitudinal truss called the Powerplant Frame joins the engine to the differential.
