In 2022 the Velar was in its sixth year on sale, a luxury crossover positioned below the main Range Rover, whose new fifth generation was revealed in October 2021. It was built at Solihull with the Ingenium line of engines and the ZF eight-speed gearbox, towing 2,500 kilograms. The sources used here record no change dated to 2022; a facelift was to arrive the following year, in 2023, and the car's aluminium platform and 2,874 millimetre wheelbase were shared with the Jaguar F-Pace.
