In 2022 Vauxhall discontinued the Insignia from its model range and Opel also ended production of the Opel Insignia in 2022, because of the decline of the D segment in Europe. PSA later reversed course and said that the Insignia nameplate would be resurrected as a crossover SUV in 2024 for both Opel and Vauxhall, though this never came to fruition. The 2022 Insignia was the last model year, and production at Rüsselsheim ended that year.
