The fifth generation Cavalier has been marketed in Mexico since late 2021 as a 2022 model, the successor to the Mexican Cavalier that had replaced the Chevrolet Sonic in 2018. It was a compact sedan sold in the Mexican market, and by the time it was discontinued in July 2025 the Aveo and the Onix were the only Chevrolet passenger cars left in the Mexican lineup. The fifth generation was marketed from late 2021, which made 2022 its first model year.
