The 2022 TLX continued the second generation with the 272 horsepower 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder in the base and A-Spec trims and, in the Type S, the 355 horsepower turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 with SH-AWD, which can send up to 70 percent of the torque to the rear axle. It had a front double-wishbone suspension and a brake-by-wire system. In a track test by Car and Driver the Type S circled Virginia International Raceway in three minutes and 6.7 seconds.
