In 2021 the Corolla Cross reached many more markets, starting with Bangladesh on 8 January and Argentina and Brazil on 12 March. The North American version was unveiled on 2 June and was the first vehicle built at the Mazda Toyota plant in Huntsville, Alabama, starting on 30 September, the Japanese one appeared on 14 September, and it went on sale in South Africa in November. It was model year 2 of 7 in the Toyota Corolla Cross (first generation), 2020 to 2026, coming after the 2020 model year and before the 2022 model year.
