The facelifted Eclipse Cross went on sale in February 2021 for the 2022 model year in North America. The Eclipse Cross of 2021 was the fourth model year of a compact crossover SUV assembled in Japan, China and Brazil, not in the United States, since Mitsubishi had closed its Diamond-Star Motors plant in Normal, Illinois. It slots between the RVR, ASX and Outlander Sport and the Outlander in Mitsubishi's global crossover lineup.
