Production of the Equator was planned to start around the first quarter of 2021, and a shorter two row version, the Equator Sport, was revealed at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2021. The three row Equator was a mid size crossover built in China by the JMC Ford joint venture. It was the largest of the JMC Ford SUV range, sold above the Everest, and Ford offered it only as a six seater. The Equator was a three row SUV that Ford sold in China, built there by the JMC Ford joint venture.
