In December 2019 General Motors announced that it would stop importing the Buick Regal for North America after the 2020 model year, and the discontinuation was also influenced by the sale of Opel and Vauxhall to PSA Group. Following the 2020 withdrawal of the Cascada and LaCrosse, Buick ended its 113 year run of manufacturing and marketing cars in North America in favor of sport utility vehicles. The 2018 to 2020 Regal GS was the most powerful Regal ever produced.
