Chevrolet updated the Malibu in 2018 for the 2019 model year with a new larger front grille split by a chrome bar with the Chevrolet bowtie, and a less significant rear change. Safety features were improved, including Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking, IntelliBeam high beam assist headlamps and a semi automated parking system, while the LT Leather Package lost its Bose audio system. The Malibu Hybrid was discontinued after 2019.
