Sales of the X2 commenced in March 2018, the first year on the market for the sports activity coupe version of the X1. It was assembled at Regensburg in Germany alongside the X1 and offered in standard, M Sport and M Sport X trims, with the M35i as the top model. The X2 won EyesOn Design awards for Best Vehicle Harmonization and Best Production Vehicle in 2018. It was the first X2 model year, sold in Europe and many other markets from the spring.
