The second generation Insignia was revealed in December 2016 and had its public debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, being officially revealed on 26 June 2017. The design took cues from the 2013 Opel Monza Concept. General Motors sold Opel and Vauxhall to PSA Group in 2017, so the second generation Insignia was launched as the first Insignia under PSA ownership. The 2017 Insignia, shown at Geneva, was the first of the second generation, launched as the Insignia Grand Sport in Europe.
