F25 production ended in August 2017, after seven years at Spartanburg, when the G01 replaced it. As of 2017 the xDrive28d model of the F25 X3 was no longer available for sale in the United States. The second generation X3 had run from 2010 to 2017, a period in which the X3 had been made in the United States rather than in Austria. The G01 followed immediately with production starting in the same year at Spartanburg and Rosslyn.
