For the 2016 model year the Journey's AVP and Limited trims were discontinued and the Crossroad Plus trim was added. The 2016 Journey continued as the mid size crossover with five and seven passenger seating, a front passenger seat with under cushion storage and theater style second row seating with an H point 1.6 inches higher than the front row. It was built in Mexico at Toluca Assembly. The 2016 Journey came with seating for five or seven.
