For the 2016 model year a one ton model of the Suburban debuted as an exclusive to rental, fleet and government services as part of the eleventh generation, in 4WD with LS and LT trim options. Soft sales would result in Chevrolet discontinuing production of this model after 2019. The half ton and three quarter ton versions had been available since 1973 and the three quarter ton option for the public ended after 2013.
