The year 2016 was the last model year for the SRX as Cadillac replaced it by the XT5 in the spring of 2016 as a 2017 model. The second generation SRX was a luxury crossover built on the Epsilon II platform, and it followed the Provoq concept shown at Detroit in 2008, with its direct injection V6 engine drawn from the Cadillac CTS.
