In 2016 the F16 X6 continued as the sports activity coupe in BMW's mid size luxury crossover range, sold in the United States and elsewhere with the V8 xDrive50i, six cylinder and diesel engines, together with the M version. It was built at Greer in South Carolina, sharing a line with the X5 and the plug in hybrid X5 xDrive40e. It was the second full year of the F16 generation, in the mid range of the BMW crossover line up.
