The second generation Sienta debuted on 9 July 2015, while production of the first generation continued until June 2015. It replaced the first generation XP80 that had been on sale in Japan since 2003. This was the first model year of the Toyota Sienta (second generation, XP170), 2015 to 2021, which took over from the Toyota Sienta (first generation, XP80); the 2016 model year follows it.
