In 2015 the E89 Z4 continued as the two seat roadster with a retractable hard top, made at Regensburg in Germany. It was in the seventh year of its generation, with the facelift of 2013 and a range topped by the sDrive35is, and the Z4 was one of the few roadsters of its size that could be had with a hard top that folded away. The Z4's competitors included the Mercedes SLK and the Porsche Boxster. The roadster had been built in Germany since 2009.
