The 2015 RDX kept the 3.5 litre V6, six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive of the second generation, with variable displacement. The V6 fitted from 2013 to 2018 uses timing belts, whereas the four-cylinder engines of the first generation used a timing chain. A refreshed model for 2016 was shown at the Chicago show in early 2015 and went on sale in mid-April 2015, so the facelifted car arrived during this model year.
