The Tribeca ended after the 2014 model year, ending a run that began with the 2005 model year. At the 2017 LA Auto Show Subaru revealed the Ascent, a new mid size crossover SUV set to replace the Tribeca in North America in summer 2018. The Tribeca was the American built predecessor of the Ascent. The Tribeca was released in some markets, including Canada, as the Subaru B9 Tribeca. It was not sold in Japan. The Tribeca takes its name from the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City.
