For the 2014 model year a Hybrid version was released in the North American markets in two trims, the XV Crosstrek Hybrid and Hybrid Touring, the higher of which had new features, some of them optional on the non Hybrid Premium and Limited trims. The first generation was in its third year, a lifted Impreza hatchback with all wheel drive. The Crosstrek is a successor to the Outback Sport in North America and the Impreza XV globally.
