The new Dart debuted at the 2012 Detroit auto show and was first scheduled for sale from late June 2012, so the 2013 model year was its first full one. It was a compact sedan replacing the Dodge Caliber, with trims including the SE, SXT, Limited and Aero. The GT version began production in the second quarter of 2013. The Dart used a suspension similar to that of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, with MacPherson struts in front, and had a trunk volume of 13.1 cubic feet.
