Subaru announced in January 2012 that the Tribeca would stop being sold in the United States and Australia, and that its production would end in December 2012. It was one of the worst selling vehicles in the United States in 2012. It was not sold in Japan. The Tribeca takes its name from the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. The Tribeca was released in some markets, including Canada, as the Subaru B9 Tribeca.
