The Exiga of 2011 was in its fourth year, sold in Japan and in Australia as the Liberty Exiga, never in North America where Subaru opted to sell the similarly sized Tribeca three row crossover. The Exiga and Tribeca were sold side by side in both Australia and Singapore. The Exiga debuted as a concept car at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The Exiga is not classified as a compact MPV because its exterior dimensions are not in compliance with Japanese government regulations.
