In 2011 the Fusion was in its sixth model year, a mid size sedan positioned between the compact Ford Focus and the full size Taurus. It was built in Mexico in gasoline, hybrid and later plug in forms, sold alongside the Mercury Milan and the Lincoln MKZ that shared its CD3 platform. In the Middle East it was sold alongside the Mondeo, with only the 2.5 liter engine. Its Hybrid version was among the variants offered in gas electric form.
