The 2009 European Ka was based on the Fiat 500 architecture and came with a choice of two engines, a 1.2 litre petrol with 69 PS and a 1.3 litre TDCi diesel with 75 PS, both supplied from Fiat. The Latin American Ka was longer than the original in the rear overhang with a redesigned rear seat to accommodate a fifth passenger, and its boot capacity increased from 186 liters to 263 liters. The Latin American Ka was a separate model on the first generation chassis, designed and engineered in Brazil.
