The 2009 PT Cruiser continued as the compact five door hatchback wagon after the convertible and the High Output engine were discontinued for the 2008 model year. Sales were falling as information spread that Chrysler was going to discontinue the PT Cruiser shortly. The PT Cruiser was produced in Mexico at the Toluca Car Assembly factory, as a front wheel drive five passenger vehicle with a 2.4 liter four cylinder engine.
