The convertible and the High Output engine were discontinued for the 2008 model year and sales dropped as information spread that Chrysler was going to discontinue the PT Cruiser shortly. A version of the 2008 PT Cruiser LX was named the Street Cruiser Sunset Boulevard edition, limited to 500 units, and included Sunset Crystal paint accented with various chrome body trim pieces and deep tint glass.
