The Grandis originally used the 136 PS BSY version of Volkswagen's Pumpe Duse diesel engine, but in 2008 it was changed to the 140 PS BWC variant of the same engine, with no declared performance changes. The Grandis of 2008 was in its sixth year as a seven seat MPV for Europe and Asia. The exterior styling was based loosely on designer Olivier Boulay's earlier Mitsubishi Space Liner concept. The Grandis is a seven seat MPV built by Mitsubishi Motors between 2003 and 2011.
