With the 2008 MKZ the climate controlled front seats, heated and cooled, became standard equipment, a feature pioneered in the 2000 Lincoln Navigator and supplied by Amerigon. For 2008 the MKZ received as standard equipment Sirius satellite radio, perforated leather seats, a reverse sensing system, a tire pressure monitoring system and Lincoln SYNC, which was a late availability item. It was styled under Chief Designer Darrell Behmer and built at Hermosillo in Mexico.
